I started making dolls when people who are interested in Native American crafts or doll collectors searched high and low for authentic Native American dolls. There were parents of children who wanted an original Native American doll. I looked at the museums where traditional Dakota/Lakota/Nakota dolls were displayed. I created my own pattern that matched the dolls in the museums. I use muslin to replace the white deer skin and black yarn for the horse hair on the dolls head. All the clothing design are designed after the Northern Plains tribes. Each doll can be dressed in other attire if the doll owner wishes to play dress up. I enjoy doll making and want to share my culture with all of the world.
